Nut Cake Recipe

Looking for a good recipe for cherry nut cake like trad wedding cake ..HELP?
I had cherry nut cakes at weddings and omg there the best…Dose any one have a recipe i can have i wanna make a birthday cake for my daughters 20th birthday i know she would love this….i hope to have a nice smooth and fluffy recipe and possible a goood frosting recipe as well but i really want a good recipe..
1 pt. sour cream
1 tsp. baking soda
2 sticks butter or margarine
2 c. sugar
3 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. almond extract
1 c. chopped walnuts
1 c. quartered maraschino cherries
3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
–CREAM CHEESE FROSTING:–
3 oz. pkg. cream cheese
1/4 c. butter
2 c. confectioners’ sugar
1 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
Add baking soda to sour cream and set aside. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add sour cream and soda mixture. Mix. Add flour and salt. Mix well. Fold in cherries and nuts. Bake in a greased tube pan in a 350 degree oven for 60 to 70 minutes. Cool and frost with Cream Cheese Frosting. FROSTING: Cream together cream cheese and butter until smooth. Beat in confectioners’ sugar, milk and vanilla. Beat well. Faculty
or try this one with chocolate
4 eggs
3 c. sugar
2 1/2 c. plain flour
1/2 c. cocoa
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. partially melted shortening
1/2 c. chopped maraschino cherries
2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 tsp. almond extract
1/2 c. evaporated milk
1/2 c. hot water
2 c. chopped pecans
Beat eggs, add sugar and set aside. Sift flour, cocoa and baking powder together and add this to sugar and egg mixture. Add shortening, vanilla flavoring, extract, milk, water, pecans and cherries. Mix well. Pour into a floured and greased 10-inch tube pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 10 minutes, or until done.
