Brownie recipe with cake mix and chocolate chips?
I can’t find the recipe I usually use for brownies, but I know it includes a chocolate cake mix and chocolate chips- no nuts, though. Any ideas?
Cake Mix Brownies:
1 pkg chocolate, devils food, or chocolate fudge cake mix
3/4 cup butter, melted
1 egg
1 cup chocolate chips
1/3 cup brown sugar
Combine the cake mix, brown sugar, and chocolate chips. Add the butter and egg, and stir to combine. Don’t overmix, it doesn’t need to be smooth. Pour into a prepared 9×13″ cake pan pan and bake 30-40 minutes at 350*f.
The brown sugar and melted butter are the key to getting real brownies from a cake mix. There are a lot of Recipes that call for just water & an egg, but all that makes is a somewhat denser cake. The brown sugar adds the chewiness of a brownie, the butter adds the richness and fudginess.
